The Pure Wilderness Tour includes approximately 90 minutes of jet boating on the Upper Waiau River and Lake Manapouri, followed by a short guided nature walk through native beech forest.
How long should I allow for the full experience?
Please allow approximately 2 hours in total. This includes check-in, a short transfer to the boat ramp, the jet boat experience, guided walk and return to Te Anau.
Where do we meet for the tour?
Tours depart from the Fiordland Jet office at 84 Lakefront Drive, Te Anau. From there, guests take a short 7-minute shuttle transfer to the jet boat launch point.
What time should I check in before departure?
Guests are required to check in at least 15 minutes before departure at the Fiordland Jet office in Te Anau.
What are the age requirements for the jet boat tour?
Children aged 5–15 years qualify for child fares. Infants aged 4 years and under may be able to travel; however, the experience is not recommended for infants under 18 months.
