On the 3 February 2020 Milford Sound was hit with a large weather system which caused widespread flooding and significant damage to the Milford Road (the only access road to Milford Sound). Here in Fiordland, we are used to weather events such as these, and it was only a few days before cruises were running again for guests arriving by plane or helicopter. Coach transport was able to resume on 21 February with all vehcile access opening up on Thursday 19 March 2020. Road works are anticipated to continue throughout 2020.
