Due to recent weather events and the Milford road repairs preventing private vehicle access, we are operating special Milford Sound Coach & Cruise day trips departing from Queenstown and Te Anau. There is limited coach capacity so we encourage you to book online today!
Learn more about the Milford road flood, details about the weather event, road closure and find out the easiest ways to get to Milford Sound. Unfortunately Milford Sound Underwater Observatory, Kayaking and Cruise only experiences are currently unavailable. We anticipate being fully operational again very soon.
Why choose Milford Sound Cruise & Kayak?
Imagine paddling through pure glacial water in a peaceful cove with the sound of birds singing. Experience the magic of Milford Sound up close on a guided kayaking adventure before coming face to face with the local marine life below the surface in New Zealand’s only floating underwater observatory.
Southern Discoveries Milford Sound Cruise & Kayak trips depart at multiple times daily. The kayaking tour leaves from the Milford Sound Underwater Observatory, a floating building in Harrison Cove, where customers are dropped off towards the end of their cruise.
The one hour guided kayaking tour is a great addition to an already breath-taking Milford Sound cruise experience. The tour is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience, and all ages over 5 years. Children aged 5-14 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in a double kayak.
