Premier New Zealand tourism company Southern Discoveries, formerly known as Milford Sound Red Boats, offers the most modern cruising experience in Milford Sound with a fleet of three spacious catamarans and the Encounter Cruise. Over 3.2 million dollars has recently been spent upgrading our fleet.

It has been safely operating in Milford Sound for more than 50 years, running trips on its first boat called Mitre Peak (now the Anita Bay).  It also operates the Milford Discovery Centre, New Zealand’s only floating underwater observatory, and the Blue Duck Café and Bar in Milford Sound.

Southern Discoveries is committed to helping people discover the awe-inspiring, breathtaking sights and sounds of Milford Sound, a place author and poet Rudyard Kipling described as the eighth wonder of the world, but we simply call ‘home’.
