Southern Discoveries Ltd is owned by Skeggs Group Ltd.

Southern Discoveries Limited reserves the right to amend timetables, cancel cruise departures and substitute vessels at any time.  Southern Discoveries Ltd has the right to cancel any cruise at any time due to unsafe weather conditions or boat maintenance.

Amendments/Cancellations/Refunds

Reservations may be amended to another date or time subject to space and availability. No charge is made for this amendment but any difference in price will need to be paid.  Please always quote your booking confirmation number when amending a booking.

Any cancellations are required to be made at least 24 hours prior to departure.  Cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead or on the day of travel are not eligible for refund.

 

Road Closure

The Milford Road is an alpine pass and can be closed with no warning at any time of year.  Up to date road information is available at www.milfordroad.co.nz {link to http://www.nzta.govt.nz/projects/milfordroad/RoadStatus.do} Southern Discoveries Ltd accepts no responsibility for road closure. Southern Discoveries Ltd are informed of the road status at 7.30am each morning. All agents and passengers can choose to receive a full refund or travel when the road is reopened.

 

Children and Infants

For the purposes of travel children are aged 4 - 14 years inclusive.  Children 3 years and under travel free.

 

Trade Terms and Conditions

Rates

  • Wholesale rates are only available to those wholesalers/inbound operators that Southern Discoveries Ltd has a written agreement with.
  • All rates quoted are in New Zealand dollars.
  • Southern Discoveries Ltd GST number is 048-471-420GST (Goods and Service Tax) is currently charged at 12.5%.
  • All rates quoted in this manual are correct at the time of printing.  Southern Discoveries Ltd reserves the right to alter rates at any time.

 

Tour Leaders, Guides and Escorts

  • FOC on cruise only for one guide accompanying groups of 10 or more paying passengers.
  • No FOC for food on board - unless specifically agreed in writing.

 

How to Book

  • Reservations can be made by contacting our friendly Queenstown reservations team by telephone, fax or email.  Contact details can be found on page 29.  Please provide the following information when making a booking:
  • Passenger/group name.
  • Date of travel and cruise departure time.
  • Number of adults, children, tour leaders, guides and/or escorts.
  • The voucher or booking number for passengers/group.
  • Agent name and the contact name of the person making the booking.
  • Agent contact details; phone and fax number and email address.
  • Method of payment.
  • Catering needs, please mention any special dietary requirements.
  • If booking coaches please include key persons contact phone number or tour leaders phone number.

 

Reconfirmation

  • All group bookings are required to be reconfirmed with the Queenstown reservations team as per the following schedule:
  • 1 month/30 days prior to departure.
  • 7 days prior to departure.
  • 48 hours prior to departure for a final confirmation of numbers and any food requirements.
  • Southern Discoveries Ltd reserves the right to release those bookings not reconfirmed as per the above schedule.

 

Payment with Approved Credit:

  • Credit will only be approved with a detailed written agreement from Southern Discoveries Ltd.  Without this agreement prepayment will be essential.
  • Southern Discoveries Ltd will accept bookings from the approved credit agent.
  • Southern Discoveries Ltd will accept vouchers for service from the approved credit agent.
  • Vouchers must clearly state the number of fare paying passengers with escorts/tour leaders listed separately.

Prepayment Arrangements:

  • Until credit is approved, payment for bookings is required on or before the day of travel. Payment can be made by bank deposit, company credit card or cash. Cheques are not accepted. An invoice can be provided upon request.

 

Cancelled Cruises

  • Southern Discoveries Ltd has the right to cancel any cruise at any time due to unsafe weather conditions or boat maintenance.
  • In the event of a cruise being cancelled passengers will receive any pre-order food.
  • Groups and passengers will be offered the option of a full refund for the cruise or cruising when conditions improve.
